During the height of the pandemic, high school seniors were missing out big time. Someone started a movement called #AdoptASenior where the community could gift seniors to help brighten their final days as a high school student.
I was part of the Okeechobee Adopt A Senior facebook group and found Julie. She is pursuing a career in Nursing and was passionate about photography. I decided to adopt her. What better way to brighten someone’s senior year than to gift them a senior session?!
Julie and I met at McKee Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach. They had this amazing vine exhibit going on and I knew it would add a little extra oomph to the session. Julie showed up absolutely stunning in this bomb dress handmade by her sister, Odalis. It was the most epic senior session dress ever.
Julie told me that her sister made this dress for her senior prom. She wanted to be extra AF, but never got the opportunity to show it off. When my adoption offer came through, she knew the dress was meant for the session.
Between tons of laughter, evil laugh attempts, and tiktok reenactments, we got senior gold! I loved every minute hanging with Julie and this session turned out amazing.
So here’s to you Julie! Congrats on graduating and starting it in the real world. It’s tough and sometimes it gets ugly, but the journey is seriously beautiful.
