Ever wondered what it would be like to have a Florida adventure elopement? Well, Taylor and Harrison did. In fact, they were already married and had a full blown wedding a couple years back. I really wanted to showcase a Florida adventure elopement to eloping couple and they were totally down for round two!
Taylor and Harrison spend their lives out on the water. It only made sense that their adventure elopement include the ocean. When planning this elopement, I knew this about Taylor and Harrison –
Going in with that information, I curated this customized elopement plan:
If you’re familiar with Florida, you know that what you had planned and what you actually did are completely up to chance. On this particular day, Florida had a different idea of what the elopement plan would look like. First and foremost, the one day of Florida winter came and it was 57 degrees out. Then, the seas were 7-8′ so sport fishing was completely out of the question. Instead, we went with the flow and opted for inshore fishing.
Since Taylor and Harrison are gin drinkers, I wanted to incorporate a fun cocktail for them to make on the boat together. After scrolling through Pinterest, a Bees Knees are the obvious choice – lemony, light, and perfect for the water. To be totally honest, after this day, a bees knees has become one of my favorite cocktails!
After we snapped portraits in their formal wear, Taylor and Harry changed into bathing suits for island hopping. We stopped at an island that had the most gorgeous mangroves. Changing from a wedding dress to a bikini is my favorite part about a Florida elopement.
At the end of the day, this entire day was about Taylor and Harrison having the best freaking time of their lives to celebrate their marriage. It didn’t matter that the seas were actin’ a fool. It didn’t matter that it was also cold AF. It mattered that the good vibes were there, we took the obstacles and turned them into something better, and went with the flow.
