This adorable family session on a rainy, February afternoon in the Florida pines and palmettos turned into a fiery couple session that almost set my entire neighborhood on fire. Good thing we brought out the hoses.
Erica and I have been trying to plan a family session since ‘nam. Every time we are schedule a session, an actual hurricane comes and ruins our plans. This happened twice.
Jokes on you, hurricane season, we decided to do it in February.
But of course, every day leading up to the session was sunshine and rainbows, but the day of the session had a forecast of 50-60% chance of rain. So really, jokes on us again.
But these photos HAD TO HAPPEN. Erica’s husband, JJ, was going on the road for work the very next day. We needed these.
We hiked out to the spot and it rained on us pretty much the whole way. When we were set to start, it was sprinkling, but there was enough breaks in the weather to get some serious gold of the Jureks. #ThankYaJesus
Part of the plan was to split the session 50/50 – family for the first half and couple session the second half. I support this idea of parents taking part of the session for themselves 110%. Capturing this time reminds you of where you started, how you got there, and all the things you have to look forward to as a couple.
Without further ado, scroll to see a transition from family session to a steamy, water-drenched couple session.
